Experience

Jeff Curran is a shareholder in the Oklahoma City office of GableGotwals. His practice focuses on product liability defense, insurance matters, intellectual property litigation, and commercial litigation. He also maintains an entertainment law practice, representing motion picture production companies, musicians, and recording companies in contract negotiation, licensing and related areas. Jeff is a past Chair and Vice Chair of the Defense Research Institute’s (DRI) Automotive Specialized Litigation Group. He has appeared as regional and national counsel for clients and has tried cases to verdict in several States. Jeff is also a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and is National Fire Counsel for a major satellite and streaming entertainment services provider.

He is the Oklahoma State Representative for the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC), which is an invitation-only group of premier defense and corporate counsel and industry executives whose mission is dedicated to leading the profession by advancing the principles of integrity, professionalism, fair civil justice, intellectual capital, and fostering the trust and value of fellowship.

Jeff also maintains a mediation practice and was recently inducted to the Oklahoma Chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (NADN) for 2025, an invitation-only academy consisting of mediators and arbitrators who meet a strict list of criteria and requirements.

He is a member of the DRI’s Product Liability Committee, Insurance Law Committee, and Trucking Law Committee. Jeff is also a member of the Board of Directors for Free to Live, a local no-kill animal shelter. In addition, he is a past member (and former President) of the Board of Directors for The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital in Bethany.

Jeff authored Expert Witnesses: Automobile and Accident Reconstruction Cases, a Thomson Reuters publication, published from 2008 through 2023. He was the Regional Editor of the 2020 edition of the DRI Reservation of Rights Compendium for the Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Nebraska, and Oklahoma chapters. He has also written on various other subjects in litigation and commercial litigation and has written and presented several lectures on professionalism and ethics.

Jeff’s recent experience includes:

  • Representing a major pharmaceutical company in multi-state product-liability-related matters.
  • Acting as National Fire Counsel for an international satellite and streaming entertainment services company.
  • Successfully trying to verdict an injury case defending a large international retail business.
  • Representing an international satellite television company in various litigation matters.
  • Representing several major consumer goods manufacturers in various product liability-related matters.
  • Representing a motion picture production company in the negotiation of a motion picture production.
