Tyler Self is an associate at GableGotwals, where his practice focuses on environmental and natural resources law.
Tyler’s experience includes handling complex environmental issues across multiple industries and advising clients on regulatory compliance, permitting, litigation, and transactional matters. His experience includes, but is not limited to, the Clean Air Act (CAA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), and other state rules and regulations.
His practice also includes negotiations with federal and state agencies, assessing and counseling on air, water, stormwater, and waste permit compliance, including representing clients at contested permit enforcement and related hearings, and assisting with the negotiation of the allocation of environmental risks affecting transactions.
In law school, Tyler served as the Student Body President and the Vice President of Finance for the Student Bar Association. He was the Submissions Editor for the Oil and Gas, Natural Resources, and Energy Journal and a member of several Moot Court competition teams, including the Kurth Moot Court National Championship Team. His article “Are You In or Are You Out?” covering nuclear integration and discontinuation was published in ONE-J’s 2021 edition.
Tyler is also committed to pro-bono service related to offering indigent and low-income individuals basic legal advice and counseling.
Prior to joining the Firm, Tyler was an associate at an international law firm in Houston and was a judicial intern for the Honorable Jodi W. Dishman of the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.
