Tax Law

GableGotwals tax attorneys assist clients in planning, implementing and achieving individual and business financial objectives while increasing tax advantages and minimizing tax burdens. Our attorneys stay abreast of the evolving tax landscape, such as tax reform and other incentive programs (including most recently, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, CARES Act, and American Rescue Plan Act), in order to maximize our clients’ strategies and goals. Our clients include individuals, businesses, and tax-exempt organizations on federal, state and local taxation issues.

GableGotwals represents large publicly traded corporations, privately and closely held businesses, not-for-profit corporations, and individuals. Our firm assists and represents these clients in tax planning, structuring and negotiating terms of transactions, organization and reorganization of businesses, and representing clients in relation to taxing authorities at the Internal Revenue Service and Oklahoma Tax Commission.

The Firm has extensive experience in Oklahoma state and local taxation, including income, sales and use, gross production and ad valorem taxes. We have advised numerous clients on a wide variety of Oklahoma tax laws, proposed and new legislation, and Oklahoma Tax Commission rules and decisions. This has included multi-state taxation and nexus issues associated with business operations related to Oklahoma.

We provide services in tax controversies by effectively representing clients against federal, state and local taxing authorities in administrative and judicial proceedings. Our representation includes the provision of advice and representation on proposed assessments and the seeking of adjustments and refunds of taxes that have been improperly collected or remitted. We focus on achieving the best and most cost effective result through either negotiation, settlement or litigation.
